Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but bubbles, and give our past a future.
The goal of the Thousand Islands Chapter Committee of Save Ontario Shipwrecks is to promote the preservation of our local wrecks through responsible diving so that all may enjoy them. All very laudable, but we also have a lot of fun doing it through the placement of Coast Guard approved mooring buoys on unmarked wrecks, maintenance of sites and the occasional lecture.

Here are the Minutes from the meeting on March 5th. Our next meeting will be on April 2nd at 7pm at Bud's on the Bay Restaurant in Brockville.

This message is from Brian Prince who is organizing a Level 1 NAS Course for us in Brockville this Summer. Please share this information with all your friends who may be interested:

Hi Everyone,

I am organizing the NAS level 1 here in Brockville as well as a planned survey of two 1812 wrecks in the area. I have talked to the SOS Board and July is suggested for the NAS 1 (nice warm water) - I need to provide two weekends. You can use your new skills on a planned survey project - history:

Divers Wanted!
We have a lot of great projects coming up and we need lots of divers. If you want to participate, please send me an email. If you do want to help out, Dive Tech is offering free air or 32% Nitrox. There's enough work for divers of all levels. We're currently planning dives for the first 2 weekends in May to setup the mooring lines on some of the wrecks.

Here are the minutes from our May 2013 Chapter Meeting. Our next meeting will be on June 4th at 7pm at Bud's on the Bay in Brockville.

Tall Ships Festival - Volunteers Needed!
The Tall ships festival will be held in Brockville on June 14 to 16. SOS Thousand Islands will have a table set up to promote SOS and show people all the great things we do. We do need some volunteers to staff the booth. If you're available to help, please send me an email. (jessica.g(at)cogeco.ca)

Our next meeting will focus on planning for the upcoming NAS level 1 course and the surveys on the wrecks from the war of 1812. It will be on Tuesday July 9 at 7 pm at Bud's on the Bay in Brockville. This should be a really interesting meeting - I hope all of you can make it.

Hi Everyone,
Here are the minutes from our August meeting.
Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, September 3rd, at 7 pm at Bud's on the Bay in Brockville. I hope you can make it.

Be sure to check out the SOS Thousand Islands Facebook Group Page. Steve Hatch posted a stunning video of the Thousand Islands, all filmed by helicopter. The group who produced that video is currently working on a video of our survey of the wrecks from the war of 1812. So stay tuned!

Hi Everyone,
Here are the minutes from the Meeting on September 3rd, 2013.
